Selling Everything and Traveling The World (Day 2)

Hey Bros!

Today is day 2 of our trip and it’s definitely been interesting so far.

Yesterday, we left Los Angeles and began traveling to Palm Springs, California.

We decided to go with a $700 per night Air BNB that has 5 rooms, a pool, and a Jacuzzi.

Renting something this expensive is likely not something we will do often but I’ve actually never paid for a “nice” Air BNB before so I thought I’d try it out.

Meanwhile, back in Santa Barbara, My girlfriend Elle is finishing up with the house and will likely be flying out and joining us in Palm Springs tomorrow.

We’ve decided to keep the 2021 C8 Corvette in storage as well as a few of my computers and other special belongings.

It’s interesting how fast all of this is going by, a few months ago we were planning on buying a million-dollar house and staying long-term with all of our pets and family in one place.

But, it never felt right.

I am 28 and Elle is 30, I think we want to explore the world, we’ve never really truly got to do that yet.

I almost believe we had lucked out when our landlord told us we had to get rid of the dogs and then give us no other option but to leave as well.

Without him, we probably would have waited longer to do something like this and may eventually have never had the chance.

Now, I will say that only two days in, I do feel a bit shaky about where all of this will end up, but I think I am just as excited as I am nervous, and hearing all the feedback from you has been inspiring me like crazy!

In other news, things at my company, “Shine Ranker” are taking off!

Good News With The Shine Ranker Tool

A few things here…

First of all, we now have about 700 paid users and close to 1,000 current users total that are trying out the tool with the free trial.

I am also very excited to say that Shine Ranker finally just released its new content editor tool!

Essentially, the content editor tool allows you to edit the content on a website and optimize it so that it ranks high up on Google.

All you have to do is type in a keyword that you want to rank for and the content editor will actually crawl the top pages that are ranking on Google and tell you what averages you need to hit to beat those pages!

Go try it out now at https://shineranker.com/ and let me know what you think! :)

Is Shine Ranker Better Than Other Tools?

One thing I was going to address on the Shine Ranker blog but I wound up doing here instead is a question I get often: “how does Shine Ranker compare to other tools?”

I decided I’d share with you here the big difference between Shine Ranker and other tools.

But I will get to that in a second, if you want to skip straight to the Shine Ranker stuff keep scrolling.

Exploring New Ideas

This whole process of writing and documenting my trip has been AWESOME so far.

I’m starting to discover that I think I like writing almost more than I do video.

But, I’m unsure about what I should end up doing long-term with this.

I guess I’ll just keep sharing ideas until something sticks for now.

One Thing To Motivate You Today

Back when I lived in a garage and ate boiled potatoes out of huge Tupperware bowls while working on websites live on Youtube, I knew two things:

  1. One day I would make a ton of money.

  2. I would show others how they’d be able to go from poverty to obtaining wealth.

Now, I wouldn’t say I’m rich, I gross about 50-100k per month and my net is around 80% of that when I’m not hiring a ton of workers to help me with different experiments that I like to run.

My old $700 per month garage is Isla Vista, California.

However, I would say that I do know something that a lot of people want to know about and that is, making money online and being able to travel wherever and whenever you want.

Here’s the thing…

The amount of money you make is proportionate to the number of people you help.

Most people I see who want to make money want to do it for themselves.

In other words, they want to make money so they can go do x or have y lifestyle.

They start obtaining a few clients, making some money, but they work so hard to get the lifestyle they “want” eventually they can’t seem to get out of the hole they dug themselves into.

Sure, they are making money but they are also tied to their clients who are now dictating when they work, sleep, etc.

This isn’t always the case and there’s definitely a way to automate your services and anything else for that matter.

But I think it’s extremely important to think about WHY you’d automate things, is it to stop working and sip pina colada’s on the beach?

Partially, sure.

But more importantly, we want to automate what we do so we can focus on scaling and HELPING as many people as possible.

If you have 10 clients and they are small businesses, guess what, you’re only helping those 10 people and the small number of people those businesses serve.

So, the VALUE that you create is a lot LOWER than what it would be if you focused on helping MORE people.

Take Care of Yourself

I think it’s so easy to fall into the trap of, “I’m doing this because I have to.”

The truth is that being helpful to others comes by proxy when you take care of yourself and stay focused on what you’re actually passionate about.

When I was living in a garage I had no money, no education, no clients, etc.

But I was doing what I wanted to do.

People saw value in what I cared about doing and I wound up making money BECAUSE the thing that I liked doing wound up helping others as a result.

If you’re at a point where you’re thinking, “wow I really hate doing this” guess what, maybe it’s time for you to take a different route!

I think there’s a time and a place for doing things that you don’t want to do but if you’re going day in and day out miserable, it might be that you’re wearing a suit that doesn’t fit you anymore.

If you were to think to yourself, “WOW, I’d love to be doing this right now” and that thing is TRULY helping people around you and creating a ton of value, then what are you waiting for?

Alright, enough motivation talk let’s talk about what I promised earlier with Shine Ranker.

Main Features of Shine Ranker

One of the biggest problems we see with the SEO industry is how many different tools you "need" to be successful.

Here's the thing, most of these tools often do one thing well but usually carry a ton of other useless features that nobody wants.

That's why at Shine Ranker we've made it our goal to only provide you with SEO tools that you actually use and put them in one interface for an affordable price.

Our current main features for Shine Ranker are:

  • Project Dashboard

  • Keyword Research

  • Traffic Checker

  • Site Auditor

  • Keywords Competitor

  • Content Editor

Let's talk about how each of the features in Shine Ranker work and how they compare to other tools.

 1. Project Dashboard

The Shine Ranker project dashboard is used to help you manage your different websites and track keywords.

Right now you can track unlimited projects and keywords in your dashboard but we have plans to change this soon with the number of projects and keywords you will be able to track with our new pricing plans.

We will obviously include a large plan for the people who are currently on our early adopter’s plan.

If you don't have the early adopters plan yet and are reading this within a reasonable time frame of us posting this, feel free to reach out to support@shineranker.com and ask us for the plan.

One drawback about our dashboard compared to other tools is that we don't have a full view of each project in a dashboard, but this is something that we are planning to include in our upcoming updates.

2. Keyword Research

Keyword research with Shine Ranker is EASY and straightforward.

Type in a few things that you want to find keywords for and Shine Ranker will find you a bunch of suggestions.

Next, click on select all and calculate keyword difficulty.

Shine Ranker will find the keywords that have the best chance of ranking by identifying something called in title count.

Ideally, we're looking for keywords that not many people are using in the titles of their websites.

Most other tools determine keyword difficulty usually by observing the authority or backlinks of a page.

While backlinks are certainly a big ranking factor to Google and help determine the competition for more competitive keywords, they are often useless for keywords without any competition.

The strategy we recommend at Shine Ranker is to target low-difficulty EASY keywords that don't require links and slowly optimize your way up from more competitive terms as you achieve more backlinks and recognition in your niche.

3. Traffic Checker

Traffic checker allows you to type in any website and tells you what keywords that website is ranking for.

This is helpful when you want to be able to steal keyword ideas for your own sites or when you want to check your own current rankings.

The big difference between our traffic checker and our competitors is that we don't yet have a fancy graph that shows you historical data, however, we do still can show historical data for keyword rankings before and afterward.

4. Site Auditor

The site-auditor is great if you're looking to quickly crawl pages on a website and you want to get highlights of what's good and bad from an SEO perspective.

The big difference between our tool and others is being able to crawl in real time on the cloud.

There is some desktop software that will pull URLs like our tool does but most of the cloud-based tools audit your site in what seems like an extremely ineffective manner, usually by crawling a site then telling you what's wrong with a hard-to-learn layout.

We're also unaware of a tool that will crawl a website and automatically highlight what's wrong with that website with conditional formatting like we are currently doing.

5. Keywords Competitor

Keyword competitor helps you find keywords that your competitors are ranking for that you aren't ranking for.

Just type in your website and your competitor’s website and Shine Ranker will show you what you're missing.

The big difference between this tool and most competitors is that the competitors actually allow you to type in up to four competitors which is a feature we're actually working on adding in.

6. Content Editor

The biggest difference between our content editor and other tools is that right now you can get unlimited look-ups where most tools charge a HEFTY fee for this.

Eventually, we will probably start limiting the look-ups but we are going to be very competitive and make all of our tools 10x more affordable than what you would get anywhere else.

CONCLUSION

I’ll try to keep you updated with anything new.

As usual, I love hearing your feedback, please feel free to write to me at Im@chasereiner.com or leave a comment below.

Stay true to yourself bros!
