What’s up there, SEO pros? Chase here. Today, I’m going to talk to you about what is a huge opportunity that people are missing when doing content. Stick around.

So, if you're anything like me, you spend a lot of time making content and perhaps, it is or isn’t ranking and maybe you’ve got a few social shares, that’s great! But, what ends up happening when a year later, the content is outdated or you don’t have any rankings or maybe the rankings dropped? This is something that a lot of people just end up forgetting about.

“Forget about it!”

They do a piece of content and then they never re-launch it. That’s what I’m here to talk to you about; it’s re-launching content.

Re-Launch It!

If you take somebody like BACKLINKO, who is ranking for a ton of stuff, one of his main strategies is actually doing the content re-launch and here’s why it works so well.

First of all, when you do your first piece of content, you’re going to get usually a good amount of social shares, assuming that the content is good and you’re probably going to get a few rankings and may be a few links out of it.

Now, this is all theoretical. You may be the best SEO in the world or you might be the best social media marketer in the world. Either way, it doesn’t matter because at some point, you’re going to want to re-share this content or get higher rankings for this content, for maybe a keyword that it’s not ranking exactly the highest for. One of the best ways to get higher rankings, more links and more shares is to re-launch this content with new things in it. All you have to do is update the content with more tips, more extensive guide, you can plug your content into something like cognitiveSEO and elaborate on it based on the alysi keywords or use something like alysi graphs, find more alysi keywords and then, elaborate on the content. You can add a video to the content, do a transcription, make the video longer, add OG data to the post so that you can actually repost the content with the video.

There’s a ton of things that you could do but the idea is that, you are continually updating this content that’s working for you but going and updating it in a way that you're updating content that’s already getting significant rankings but you could actually get more by adding more keywords in that content. So, a lot of people underestimate the power of this, you can also cross this with clickthrough rate optimization by changing the titles and the metas to further be optimized for the keywords that you’re going for but the best part is that all you have to do is go into your search console, see the keywords that you’re showing up for and for instance, say you’re not showing up super high for one keyword, you can elaborate on that topic and cross that with clickthrough rate optimization and generally, you will go up higher for that keyword without any links.

So, hope you guys enjoyed that tip and until I see you guys next time, happy SEOing!
